Guangdong Sanjiu Brain Hospital, affiliated with China Resources Health Group under China Resources Group, a central enterprise directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, is a modern brain specialty hospital integrating clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching.
China Resources Health Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. and is one of the three industrial platforms designated by the SASAC with health services as their main business. China Resources Health has over 196 medical institutions, including 16 tertiary hospitals such as Beijing Aerospace General Hospital, Guangdong Sanjiu Brain Hospital, and China Resources WISCO General Hospital, with over 28,500 actual open beds, committed to becoming a leading medical and health industry group and a pioneer in the reform of state-owned enterprise medical institutions.
Founded in 1994 and located in the urban area of Guangzhou, adjacent to Southern Medical University, Guangdong Sanjiu Brain Hospital is the flagship hospital of China Resources Health Group and is currently a large modern tertiary public non-profit brain specialty medical institution in South China integrating clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching. It also serves as a clinical teaching base of Jinan University and the Affiliated Sanjiu Brain Disease and Rehabilitation Hospital of South China Normal University, a collaborative training base for standardized residency training in neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and radiology in Guangdong Province, the chairman unit of the Radiation Therapy Branch of Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, and the chairman unit of the Neuro-Oncology Committee of Guangzhou Anti-Cancer Association.
The hospital currently has over 1,100 open beds, including approximately 400 in neurosurgery, over 300 in neurology, and 135 in the Comprehensive Neuro-Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment Center. It has 41 clinical diagnosis, treatment, and functional examination departments. It possesses a number of discipline groups with specialty advantages, including tumor neurosurgery characterized by high-difficulty surgeries such as skull base, peri-brainstem, spinal cord, precise clipping of aneurysms, pediatric neurosurgery for treatment of various tumors in children, minimally invasive neurosurgery and epilepsy neurosurgery that master cutting-edge technologies at home and abroad such as DBS, VNS, CEA projects and skillfully perform SEEG, total insular resection and other sophisticated surgeries.
Some characteristic treatment technologies, such as comprehensive surgical-based rehabilitation for cerebral palsy, comprehensive treatment of a series of refractory mental disorders, promotion of awakening from vegetative state, intensive rehabilitation, and treatment of spinal diseases, craniocerebral injury combined with complex fractures and comprehensive rehabilitation, are at the leading level in South China and even nationwide.
The Comprehensive Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment Department is a neuro-oncology specialty that mainly uses radiotherapy, combined with surgery, supplemented by chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, rehabilitation therapy, psychological intervention, nutritional support, and other comprehensive treatment methods. The department has formed three major advantageous disease types: glioma, pediatric neuro-oncology, and metastatic tumors. It is skilled in using multidisciplinary combined methods to treat various refractory neuro-oncology tumors, pediatric neuro-oncology radiotherapy, radiotherapy for critical neuro-oncology tumors, and emergency radiotherapy. In the past five years, the discipline has been invited 11 times to give presentations at international academic conferences.
