RIKEN Automobile Parts (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise established in Wuhan by Japan's RIKEN Group (RIKEN Corporation). Its main business is the manufacture and sale of automotive parts, primarily automotive piston rings.
The company was founded in January 2004 with a total investment of USD 45 million. The plant is located at Plot 38MD, No. 2 Industrial Zone, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of approximately 120,000 square meters. The company officially commenced production in July 2005 and currently has over 200 employees.
Japan's RIKEN Group began developing piston ring manufacturing technology in 1920 and has been leading the world's engine business ever since. It now has 11 overseas branches and offices, with piston ring OEM market shares of 53% in Japan and 23% worldwide. In addition to producing piston rings, camshafts, valve seats and various other automotive parts and piping materials, it is also engaged in the production of heating wires, industrial furnaces, environmental protection equipment and various complete equipment sets, and has achieved numerous accomplishments in high-tech fields such as amorphous alloys, advanced ceramics and sensors.
As the only wholly-owned overseas subsidiary of Japan's RIKEN Group, RIKEN Automobile Parts (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. has introduced a complete set of the world's latest piston ring processing and manufacturing equipment from Japan, capable of performing various special surface treatments on products including chrome plating, nitriding, IP, and chemical synthetic coating. It adopts quality, inspection, work and production management standards equivalent to those of RIKEN Japan, and manages with the goal of building a factory of the world's highest level in terms of S (Safety), Q (Quality), C (Cost) and D (Delivery).
