Yitai Group currently operates 14 large and medium-sized production mines and has 2 mines under construction, with total production capacity exceeding 50 million tons per year. All coal mines have achieved fully mechanized mining, with a recovery rate of over 75%. The coal produced by the company is characterized by low ash, ultra-low phosphorus, ultra-low sulfur, and medium-to-high calorific value, making it a natural "environmentally friendly" high-quality thermal coal. The company has always adhered to the safety philosophy of "Rather produce one million tons less coal than lose a life," increasing safety investments and ensuring that all mines have improved the "six systems" for underground safety avoidance as required, effectively guaranteeing safe production. Since 2005, the company has produced 157 million tons of raw coal over six consecutive years with zero fatalities, achieving a safety performance at the leading level.
The company has built the 135.46-kilometer Zhundong electrified railway, the 124.18-kilometer Huzhun electrified railway, the 26.8-kilometer Suancigou Coal Mine electrified railway branch line, and the 122-kilometer Caoyang Highway. It has cargo yards and transshipment stations at Qinhuangdao, Jingtang Port, and Caofeidian Port, and sales offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Qinhuangdao, forming a complete production, transportation, and sales system.
As the controlling shareholder of Synfuels China Technology Co., Ltd., Yitai Group collaborated with the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanxi) to complete the pilot test of independent intellectual property technology for indirect coal liquefaction, which passed the national 863 project acceptance. In May 2006, with approval from the Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission, construction began on China's first demonstration production line for coal-based synthetic oil (approved for 480,000 tons, with the first phase producing 160,000 tons annually) based on this technology. In March 2009, the system was jointly commissioned and oil was fed into the production line. In June 2010, the unit achieved safe, stable, long-cycle, and full-load operation. Currently, Yitai Group is conducting preliminary work on the overall planning and project implementation of a 5.4 million tons/year coal-to-oil base. In accordance with the policy requirements to further improve the demonstration during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, it has submitted a feasibility study report for a 1.8 million tons/year commercial demonstration to the National Energy Administration, awaiting approval to commence preliminary work. The company strives to build a 5-million-ton-class coal-to-oil industrial base by the end of the "12th Five-Year Plan" period.
Following the approach of diversified development, Yitai Group has now formed complementary industries in non-coal sectors, including real estate development, biopharmaceuticals, and solar energy.
