Guangzhou Huadu District Huzhong Hospital

The Huadu District Maternal and Child Health Hospital (Huzhong Hospital) was established in 1992. It is a non-profit public hospital funded by donations from Hong Kong compatriots including Mr. Huzhong, and investment from Huadu District. Initially focused on dental services, after fifteen years of dedicated efforts, it has developed into a second-level first-class hospital with strong comprehensive strength, featuring obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, stomatology, and maternal and child health care as its main specialties, along with fully equipped departments including internal medicine, surgery, ENT, rehabilitation, and cosmetology, integrating health care, medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. Since its establishment, Huzhong Hospital has been renowned locally for high-quality services and specialized brands. In the past five years, it has consecutively ranked first in the comprehensive evaluation of the Huadu District health system. The hospital is equipped with whole-body CT scanners, three-dimensional ultrasound, color Doppler ultrasound, mammography with molybdenum-rhodium double-target X-ray machines, laparoscopes, hysteroscopes, ventilators, automatic biochemical analyzers, Siemens dental treatment units, dental implant machines, otoacoustic emission devices, patient-controlled analgesia for painless delivery, anesthesia machines, and other equipment.

The hospital is located in the center of Huadu urban area, adjacent to Guangzhou North Railway Station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. It has 700 beds and over 1,000 employees, comprising the main campus, Xinjie Campus (Huzhong Obstetrics Hospital), Songyuan Campus, and Jianshe Campus. Our development strategy is to build within five years four locally well-known specialized brand hospitals, including an obstetrics hospital, a gynecology hospital, a children's hospital, and a dental hospital.

Firstly, the Huzhong Obstetrics Hospital (Xinjie Campus): Obstetrics is a key specialty of Huzhong Hospital and a well-known brand in Huadu District. Designed with an annual delivery capacity of 10,000 births, the goal is to build the best obstetrics hospital in South China. The obstetrics department offers prenatal diagnosis, home-like delivery rooms, one-on-one accompanied delivery, painless delivery, newborn swimming, postpartum rehabilitation, high-risk pregnancy management, and rescue for obstetric critical conditions such as amniotic fluid embolism and postpartum hemorrhage. Currently, it has 300 open beds. Since 2008, it has provided safe delivery for nearly 5,000 patients each year and high-quality prenatal check-up services for more than 8,000 patients. The number of deliveries accounts for about one-third of the total deliveries in Huadu District, ranking first in the district.

The obstetrics hospital houses a neonatology department with a total of 90 beds, divided into a general neonatal ward and an NICU ward. In the past three years, it has admitted an average of more than 3,000 newborns per year, including about 1,000 critically ill newborns, accounting for approximately 80% of the district's cases. The success rate of treatment reaches 98.8%, and the survival rate of very low birth weight infants reaches 99.6%.

Secondly, the Songyuan Campus offers pediatrics, stomatology, and health care departments. Our pediatric department is the 'Huadu District Critical Children's Rescue Center', with a daily outpatient volume of 600-800 visits. It has two pediatric internal medicine wards with 80 beds, 15 beds in the PICU, and 40 beds in the pediatric surgery ward. Annual inpatient admissions exceed 5,000, and annual outpatient visits approach 180,000. Our 'Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Center' currently has 96 medical, technical, and nursing staff, with 59 dental chairs, and encompasses four specialties: oral medicine, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and orthodontics. Oral medicine is further divided into endodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, and a teeth cleaning center, with technical capabilities reaching the level of a third-level first-class hospital. Our Health Care Department has 80 employees and offers child health care, women's health care, rehabilitation center, and premarital check-up center. Its specialty construction, business development, and department scale are leading in Guangzhou.

Thirdly, the Jianshe Campus offers gynecology, women's health care, internal medicine, surgery, ENT, and cosmetology departments. The gynecology department is divided into two wards with 100 beds. The first gynecology ward focuses on reproductive endocrinology, while the second focuses on gynecological tumors and cervical lesions. Gynecological endoscopic techniques and traditional Chinese medicine gynecology are major features of the department. The hospital adheres to a people-oriented management philosophy, regarding the hospital as a platform for staff development.
