Chiwan Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (CCT) is located on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Estuary, serving as the gateway to the Pearl River Delta. It is a modern logistics production enterprise engaged in the port transportation industry, providing professional container loading/unloading and storage services. Currently, it is controlled by China Merchants Port (a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, one of the largest central state-owned enterprises by SASAC asset ranking and a Fortune Global 500 company), the largest public terminal operator in China. The company has become an important member of the Shenzhen Western Home Port (China Merchants Port (South China) Operations Center) under the management of "China Merchants Port", is an important business carrier for the Group to implement the national Belt and Road development strategy, and is an important talent training base for China Merchants Port to implement domestic and international port investment, operations, and comprehensive development.
China Merchants Port (South China) Operations Center has over 160 liner routes reaching six continents worldwide. In 2021, the container throughput of South China Operations Center was 12.02 million TEUs, and the throughput operated by a single management team of South China Operations Center ranked second in mainland China.
