湖北省荆州市中医医院始建于1956年，属三级甲等中医医院、全国首批示范中医医院。医院开放床位637张，在职职工770人，拥有国家临床重点专科1个、国家重点中医专科3个、省重点专科3个。2014年底国家卫生和计划生育委员会、国家中医药管理局批准为住院医师规范化培训基地，是湖北中医药大学、湖南中医药大学、三峡大学等多所医学院校的实习基地和研究生培养点。
