河北省水利水电勘测设计研究院成立于1956年，1997年加冠“水利部”称谓，亦称水利部河北水利水电勘测设计研究院。驻地天津市。是国家甲级工程勘测设计单位。持有国家颁发的勘察、设计、工程总承包、招标代理甲级资格证书；工程咨询甲级资格证书； 地质灾害治理工程甲级勘察、设计资格证书； 建设项目水资源论证证书、水文水资源调查评价证书、编制开发建设项目水土保持方案证书、工程建设监理甲级资格证书；测绘资质甲级证书；对外经济技术合作经营资格证书以及进出口企业资格证书。1999年5月通过了IS09001质量管理体系认证。
