湖北省水利水电勘测设计院始建于1956年，是湖北省属*大的水利水电勘测设计单位，也是全国水利行业46个甲级资格工程勘察设计单位之一。本院主要从事河流区域水利规划、水库、水电站、涵闸、河道整治、堤防工程、机电排灌、水土保持设计与检测、供水排水、地下工程等勘察、设计、试验、规划以及工程总承包、工程建设监理、技术咨询等业务。
北京分院成立于2005年初，目前建立起了以水利水电勘测设计为主的完备的专业结构体系，北京分院主要从事北京地区水利工程得勘察、设计、规划等业务。
