太原市第二人民医院位于府西街西端，漪汾桥东。地理位置优越，交通便利。其前身为太原市市级机关门诊部。始建于1956年，1986年改扩建为太原市新建路医院，1988年更名为太原市第二人民医院。医院占地面积11800平方米，建筑面积16089平方米。拥有设备完善的门诊、住院、医技楼群。编制床位300张，设有科室42个，其中临床医技科室29个。在编职工420人，其中：高级83人，中级143人，初级127人，1994年医院进入国家“爱婴医院”行列；1995年迈进国家二级甲等医院；2004年初，全面通过了ISO9000国际质量认证体系，是一所集医疗、科研、教学、预防为一体的二级甲等综合医院。
