渤海船舶职业学院原隶属于中国船舶工业总公司，是我国北方*一所以培养船舶工业高素质技能型专门人才为主、 国有公办、省市共建、面向全国招生的全日制国家骨干高等职业学院。
新校园位于*旅游胜地辽宁省兴城市龙兴路29号，兴城首山国家森林公园东侧，占地面积728亩，建筑面积20万平方米；设有船舶工程、动力工程、电气工程、机电工程、材料工程、信息工程、管理科学、师范教育8个系[2] ，基础、体育、成人教育、电大等4个部，开设了船舶制造技术、计算机网络技术等20个专业。学院有在校生人数近8000人。
