Shenzhen Research Institute of Wuhan University

Wuhan University was founded in 1893 AD and has a history of 120 years. It is one of the earliest and largest comprehensive universities established in modern and contemporary China. Wuhan University is also a key university under the national "985 Project" and "211 Project", and one of the first universities to establish postdoctoral research stations, currently with 23 postdoctoral mobile stations. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 1,000 natural science research projects annually, with many research results reaching internationally advanced levels. The Shenzhen Research Institute of Wuhan University was established in 2000 and is an institutional legal entity established by Wuhan University in Shenzhen. Since its establishment, with the support of the Shenzhen municipal government and relying on the profound foundation of Wuhan University's education and research, it has made remarkable achievements in promoting the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, building research and development platforms, and cultivating high-level talents. It has established 11 key laboratories (Shenzhen R&D Centers), commercialized dozens of technological achievements, and incubated dozens of high-tech enterprises. It has also undertaken multiple major and key projects of Shenzhen. It is mainly engaged in the following work: 1. Cultivating various high-quality applied talents in a planned, systematic, and all-round manner, and conducting academic exchange activities; 2. Carrying out high-tech promotion activities such as the exchange and trading of scientific research achievements; 3. Industrialization activities such as research and development of high-tech products and small-scale production; 4. Creating entrepreneurial platforms and contributing to the incubation of high-tech enterprises. Over the past 8 years, the institute has fully leveraged Wuhan University's advantages of a complete range of disciplines and strong faculty, implemented multi-level, multi-channel, and multi-form education, and initially established a talent cultivation system from undergraduates to doctoral students; it has made every effort to build the three specialized degrees of MBA, JM, and MPA, giving priority to the development of advantageous disciplines such as law, management, economics, computer science, chemistry, and biology, and has gradually forged educational brands with Wuhan University characteristics such as "theory reaching the sky, practice standing on the ground", "Chinese essence with Western utility", and "emphasis on social responsibility and the value of dedication".
