iFlytek Co., Ltd. was established in 1999 and is a well-known listed enterprise in the Asia-Pacific region specializing in intelligent speech and artificial intelligence. Since its inception, the company has been engaged in research on core AI technologies such as intelligent speech, computer vision, natural language processing, and cognitive intelligence, maintaining an international leading level. iFlytek actively promotes the R&D and industrialization of core AI technologies, committed to "making machines capable of listening, speaking, understanding, and thinking, and using artificial intelligence to build a better world." As an important force in advancing independent innovation of China's artificial intelligence technology, iFlytek has undertaken the construction of China's first national key laboratory for cognitive intelligence and the National Engineering Research Center for Speech and Language Information Processing. It also serves as the chairman unit of the China Speech Industry Alliance, the chairman unit of the CAS AI Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance, and the chairman unit of the Yangtze River Delta AI Industry Chain Alliance.

In 2008, for the first time, machine speech synthesis surpassed the level of ordinary human speech;

In 2012, for the first time, machine speech assessment surpassed the level of human experts;

In 2015, for the first time, machine speech recognition surpassed the level of human stenographers;

In 2017, the "Zhiyi Assistant Robot" (Medical Assistant Robot) passed the comprehensive written test of the National Practicing Physician Qualification Examination for the first time, surpassing 96.3% of human examinees;

In 2018, for the first time, machine translation of Chinese-English speech translation reached the passing standard of CATTI Level 2 (China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters);

In 2019, for the first time, the machine reading comprehension system surpassed the average human level in the internationally authoritative SQuAD2.0 competition;

In 2022, for the first time, a single model surpassed the average human level in the OpenBookQA knowledge reasoning challenge;

In 2023, the first fully domestic computing power platform "Feixing No.1" (Flying Star No.1) was built, and the fully independently controllable "iFlytek Spark Large Model" was released;

In 2024, the project "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Multilingual Intelligent Speech" led by iFlytek as the primary completion unit won the First Prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Based on the iFlytek Spark Large Model trained on fully domestic computing power: Relying on the technical and application accumulation of the National Key Laboratory for Cognitive Intelligence and a well-established R&D team, on May 6, 2023, iFlytek officially released the iFlytek Spark Large Model (hereinafter referred to as "iFlytek Spark"). iFlytek Spark has seven core capabilities: text generation, language understanding, knowledge Q&A, logical reasoning, mathematical ability, coding ability, and multimodal capability.

On October 24, 2023, iFlytek and Huawei jointly released China's first fully domestic computing power platform "Feixing No.1" (Flying Star No.1).

On October 24, 2024, the open large model iFlytek Spark 4.0 Turbo, trained on the first domestic 10,000-card computing power cluster in China, was officially released. According to back-to-back tests based on real data, its seven core capabilities comprehensively surpassed GPT-4 Turbo in the Chinese domain, and its coding and mathematical abilities surpassed GPT-4o. Meanwhile, the domestic ultra-large-scale intelligent computing platform "Feixing No.2" (Flying Star No.2) was officially launched.

In January 2025, the industry's first deep reasoning large model trained on a fully domestic computing power platform — iFlytek Spark X1 — was officially released, achieving industry-leading results with less computing power; the iFlytek Spark 4.0 Turbo base was upgraded, with the industry's first release of mixed-domain knowledge search technology; the industry's first large model with end-to-end speech-to-speech simultaneous interpretation capability — the Spark Speech Simultaneous Interpretation Large Model — was launched, with the fastest speech interpretation latency within 5 seconds, reaching the level of human expert interpreters.

In April 2025, iFlytek Spark X1 was upgraded again. With an order of magnitude fewer model parameters than industry peers, its performance on general tasks such as mathematics, coding, logical reasoning, text generation, language understanding, and knowledge Q&A improved significantly, with overall performance comparable to OpenAI o1 and DeepSeek R1; with the integration of more complex types of data from various scenarios, the model's generalization ability improved, further expanding its leading edge in key industries such as education, healthcare, and legal.

Leading the formulation of multiple international standards, national standards, and industry standards: iFlytek currently serves as the co-leader of the Large Model Task Group of the National AI Standardization Overall Group, guided by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China; deputy leader of the Humanoid Robot Standardization Working Group of the National Robotics Standardization Technical Committee; member of the first session of the National Data Standardization Technical Committee guided by the National Data Administration; member of the first session of the AI Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; member of the Education Informatization Technical Standards Committee of the Ministry of Education; and undertakes the preparation of China's first "Technical Standards Innovation Base" in the field of intelligent speech. To date, iFlytek has led and participated in the formulation and revision of more than 150 international and national standards, including the world's first international standard for intelligent speech interaction in human-computer interaction, ISO/IEC 24661:2023 "Full-duplex speech interaction", the first international standard in the AI field led by China, ISO/IEC 5259-4:2024 "Artificial intelligence — Data quality for analytics and machine learning (ML) — Part 4: Data quality process framework", the first mandatory national standard in the AI field GB 45438-2025 "Cybersecurity technology — Identification methods for AI-generated synthetic content", and the national standard series GB/T 45288-2025 "Artificial intelligence — Large models", as well as industry technical standards in key areas such as education, finance, banking, industry, robotics, and software, continuously promoting the high-quality development of the AI industry.

In terms of AI industrialization: Based on core AI technologies, iFlytek has for many years continuously empowered industries such as education, healthcare, finance, automotive, urban, operators, and industry, achieving extensive results and continuously supporting the high-quality development of people's livelihoods and industries.

In the education field, iFlytek provides smart education products and solutions to 32 provincial-level administrative regions, more than 50,000 schools, and 130 million teachers and students, using AI to support personalized teaching.

In the healthcare field, iFlytek's "Zhiyi Assistant" (Medical Assistant) has achieved routine application in 680+ districts and counties in 31 provinces and cities across the country, providing more than 930 million AI-assisted diagnosis suggestions, standardizing electronic medical records over 360 million times, and correcting over 1.6 million valuable medical records after reminders from the system. iFlytek is committed to creating an AI diagnosis assistant for every doctor and an AI health assistant for every resident.

In the financial field, iFlytek has empowered more than 200 financial institutions, including state-owned banks, joint-stock banks, large insurance groups, leading city and rural commercial banks, and leading securities companies, using large models and other AI technologies to provide scenario-based applications such as intelligent customer service, smart marketing, intelligent risk control, and code development, enhancing customer service experience and operational efficiency and supporting high-quality financial development.

In the automotive field, iFlytek provides in-cabin intelligent voice services to dozens of automakers such as FAW, Dongfeng, Changan, Chery, GAC, Great Wall, Volkswagen, and Nissan, with a cumulative front-loading installation of over 65 million units, an average of over 27 million monthly active users, and annual online interaction times exceeding 16 billion. iFlytek's in-cabin intelligent voice solutions cover 23 overseas languages, helping domestic automakers go overseas to more than 60 countries and regions. iFlytek uses AI to provide users with intelligent cockpit, intelligent sound effects, intelligent driving, and other intelligent vehicle-mounted solutions.

In the urban field, iFlytek has provided smart city solutions to more than 330 cities (districts and counties) in more than 30 provinces across the country, serving over 4,900 government and enterprise units nationwide.

In the operator field, iFlytek provides smart home services to 31 provinces nationwide, with daily voice interaction times reaching 80 million. Through the iFlytek Spark Large Model, it provides operator users with AI shorthand, AI secretary, and other intelligent call solutions.
