Founded in June 1980, Tsinghua University Press is a comprehensive university press supervised by the Ministry of Education and hosted by Tsinghua University. In April 2009, it was restructured from a wholly state-owned enterprise into a limited liability company. In October 2014, the Tsinghua University Publishing Group was established. As a leading comprehensive education and professional publishing institution in China, Tsinghua University Press has been honored with titles such as "Advanced University Press," "National Excellent Publisher," "National Top 100 Book Publishing Unit," "China's Most Influential Copyright Enterprise," and "First National Textbook Construction Award - National Advanced Collective for Textbook Construction." It also won the first and fourth "China Government Award for Publishing - Advanced Publishing Unit" in 2007 and 2017, respectively. A large number of its books and journals have received important awards including the China Government Award for Publishing, the Chinese Excellent Publication Award, the National Excellent Textbook Award, and the China Good Book Award. Currently, the Press publishes nearly 3,000 titles annually, including books, audio-visual products, and electronic publications, with over 20,000 active titles. It has become an important part of the market for higher education textbooks, science and technology books, and library supply, demonstrating solid sales scale and comprehensive strength.
