Wuhan Green Environmental Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Wuchang Power Plant) is a project funded by the central budget in 2008 in Hubei Province and a key provincial and municipal project in Wuhan in 2009. Wuchang Power Plant is listed as one of the thirteen Sunshine Demonstration Projects in Hubei and is a key project personally supervised by the Secretary-General of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection. Wuchang Power Plant and the under-construction Changshankou Landfill complement each other's advantages and jointly form the Wuhan Jiangnan Waste Treatment Center, which is an important component of achieving the "harmless, reduction, and resource utilization" treatment of domestic waste in Wuhan.
Since obtaining the site selection opinion for the Changshankou site in September 2007, Wuchang Power Plant has received strong support from leaders at all levels and government departments, and has obtained 5 million yuan of central budget investment funds to stimulate domestic demand and 8 million yuan of local matching funds.
Wuhan Green Environmental Energy Co., Ltd. is located in Leizhu Village, Zhengdian Street, Jiangxia District. It is designed to treat 2,000 tons of domestic waste per day, with a total project investment of 553.43 million yuan, mainly treating domestic waste from Jiangxia District, Wuchang District, Hongshan District, and East Lake Development Zone. The company covers an area of 92 mu and adopts the differential circulating fluidized bed waste incineration process with independent intellectual property rights jointly developed by Zhejiang University and Jinjiang Group. It is equipped with three (4×400t/d) waste incineration production lines. The main equipment includes 4 circulating fluidized bed boilers with an evaporation capacity of 45t/h, equipped with 3 12MW turbine generator units, and simultaneously constructs flue gas treatment, leachate, and wastewater treatment facilities. Wuchang Power Plant was completed and put into operation in June 2010 and is the first waste incineration plant built and put into operation in Wuhan, Hubei Province. This project is an important project for Wuhan's "National Comprehensive Supporting Reform Pilot Zone" and "Two-oriented Society" construction.
