大雁矿业集团有限责任公司始建于1970年，1974年成立大雁矿务局，为中央财政直属的94家煤炭企业之一，1998年下放内蒙古自治区管理，1999年转制为大雁煤业有限责任公司，2002年下放呼伦贝尔市管理，2005年8月改组为大雁矿业集团有限责任公司，2006年7月与山东鲁能集团重组。
公司位于内蒙古自治区呼伦贝尔市鄂温克族自治旗境内，现拥有大雁东部区、西部区和伊敏河东区、伊敏五牧场区、伊敏河东区外围五大煤田矿权，煤炭总储量79.25亿吨，煤种属中灰、低硫、低磷环保型褐煤，平均发热量3800大卡/千克。
