上海世博中心，作为上海展览中心（集团）有限公司的子公司，同样具备了举办展览、会议、活动以及房屋租赁的功能，与上展中心在浦江两岸形成东西呼应的两座上海标志性建筑。上海世博中心建成后将成为*的会议中心。世博会期间，其承担了庆典、交流、贵宾接待、新闻发布和指挥运营等重要任务。世博会后，其又将转型成为大型高规格国际会议的重要场所，一方面承担政务服务功能，成为上海市“两会”及其他政务性会议的重要举办场所；另一方面还要承载社会功能，对市场和社会开放，以其会议、展览、活动（宴会）等专业功能形成核心竞争力，充分展示上海国际大都会形象，提升上海城市的综合竞争力。

Shanghai Expo Centre is a subsidiary company to Shanghai Exhibition Center (Group) Company Limited (SEG), likewise, it also possesses the functionalities for exhibition, convention, event and space leasing. They have become two echoing landmarks of Shanghai situated on the eastern and western banks of Huangpu River. After the completion of construction, Shanghai Expo Centre will be a world convention center.
