ECO Environmental Investment Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as: ECO) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong and China Gas Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as: Towngas) (stock code: 0003 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange). Towngas was established in 1862 and is one of the earliest listed public utility companies in Hong Kong, with a current market capitalization exceeding HKD 120 billion. Towngas operates gas business (Towngas China), water business (Huayan Water), and emerging clean energy business (ECO) in mainland China; it currently serves over 10 million customers, with projects spanning 21 provinces and cities across the country, totaling more than 144 projects. The company is financially strong, with abundant capital, advanced technology, and high-quality management experience.

ECO is committed to developing emerging energy businesses, with business scope covering: coal-based, gas-based, oil-based, vehicle and vessel fuels, and emerging energy projects. Hong Kong businesses include: landfill gas utilization projects, aviation fuel storage and distribution projects, liquefied gas vehicle fuel filling station projects, and the ECO Environmental Energy Research Institute. Mainland businesses include: coalbed methane extraction, liquefaction and purification projects, natural gas development and utilization, coal-based energy and chemicals, and environmentally friendly vehicle fuels. For example, projects in Zhungeer Banner, Inner Mongolia (coal mine, methanol), Jiangxi coke projects, and compressed natural gas filling stations and heavy-duty truck gas filling stations in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Tianjin, etc., have been initiated or are in operation.

In addition, ECO also participates in upstream extraction projects of oil and gas fields in foreign countries such as Madagascar.
