The Laser Micro-Nano Manufacturing Research Institute at Beijing Institute of Technology is led by academician Duo Yingxian and Professor Jiang Lan, and currently has 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 leading talent of the first batch of the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program," 2 Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, 1 recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 chief scientist of the 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 thematic expert of the 863 Program during the "12th Five-Year Plan," 1 recipient of the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 2 New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education. The institute is one of the first 13 member units of the joint laboratory under the Major Research Plan "Fundamental Research on Nano Manufacturing" of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the leading unit, the institute is currently undertaking major scientific research projects such as the 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, major national science and technology projects, major integration projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 863 projects. It possesses an internationally first-class experimental platform for laser micro-nano manufacturing. The institute maintains close research collaborations with the University of Nebraska, the University of Missouri, the University of California, Berkeley, and Princeton University.
