It is a high-tech development enterprise with independent legal personality, invested 1 billion yuan by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group from the strategic perspective of accelerating industrial structure adjustment, enhancing core competitiveness, and promoting safe, efficient, environmentally friendly, and sustainable development of the enterprise. It represents Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group in funding and organizing scientific and technological research both within and outside the group, and exercises the rights of an investor.
Since its establishment, the Research Institute (Science and Technology Development Department) has been based on the Group, facing the market, and cultivating core innovative elements such as "funds, technology, platforms, talents, and mechanisms" with a high starting point, high quality, and high level. Cumulative investment has exceeded 18 billion yuan, with more than 100 provincial and ministerial-level awards. The Academician Expert Workstation and Postdoctoral Research Workstation host 6 academicians and 3 postdoctoral doctors respectively. It has 5 research institutions and has obtained 1,005 authorized patents. It has led the establishment of two research platforms: the "National-Local Joint Engineering Center for Green, Safe, and Efficient Coal Mining" and the "National Energy Key Laboratory for Coal Quality Separation and Clean Conversion."
