Brief Introduction of Changfeng Group / Leopaard Motors
Changfeng Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as the 7319th Factory of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, was founded in June 1950. In October 1996, with the approval of the General Logistics Department, the factory was restructured into a wholly state-owned limited liability company. In September 2001, it was transferred as a whole to the People's Government of Hunan Province and is currently under the administration of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Hunan Province.
The company has a registered capital of 1.669 billion yuan and total assets of 5.896 billion yuan. It currently has more than 5,700 employees. The company's chairman, Li Jianxin, has been elected as a deputy to the 10th, 11th, and 12th National People's Congress.
The company's main business scope includes the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of Leopaard series off-road vehicles, pickup trucks, and other complete vehicles and related components. The company has two complete vehicle manufacturing enterprises: Hunan Leopaard Motors Co., Ltd. and Anhui Changfeng Yangzi Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The company has 18 controlling subsidiaries in Changsha, Yongzhou, Hengyang in Hunan Province, Chuzhou in Anhui Province, Huizhou in Guangdong Province, and other places.
The company has been awarded more than 70 provincial-level or higher honorary titles, including the "National May 1st Labor Certificate", "National Model Workers' Home", "National Enterprise Culture Excellence Award", "National Civilized Unit", and "National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization". It was listed in the "Top 500 Chinese Enterprises" for four consecutive years from 2001 to 2004, in the "Top 500 Chinese Machinery Enterprises" for nine consecutive years from 2001 to 2009, and in the "Top 500 Chinese Enterprise Groups by Tax Payment" for eight consecutive years from 2002 to 2009. In December 2003, the Changfeng Leopaard Feiteng vehicle won the "China SUV of the Year" award.
