I. Enterprise Background YASKAWA Shougang Robot Co., Ltd. (YSR) was established on August 23, 1996, jointly invested by Shougang Corporation and Yaskawa Electric Corporation of Japan, with a registered capital of USD 7 million. Its headquarters is located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. II. Main Business YSR primarily deals with Yaskawa MOTOMAN series robots from Japan, widely applied in arc welding, spot welding, gluing, cutting, handling, palletizing, painting, scientific research, and teaching. Its products span industries such as automobiles, motorcycles, home appliances, tobacco, ceramics, engineering machinery, mining machinery, logistics, and railway locomotives. III. Company Team YSR boasts a team of excellent engineering design professionals and technical service personnel who are distributed not only in Beijing headquarters but also in representative offices in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, and Changchun. They possess a high level of expertise in the R&D, manufacturing, commissioning, and operation maintenance of robot workstations and various large and medium-sized robotic automation system production lines. They use computer simulation software for precise design, significantly enhancing the reliability of system equipment and providing customers with comprehensive solutions. They have obtained multiple national patents in applied technology. IV. Glorious Achievements In September 1997, the first robot 'walked off' the production line. In 1998, the first arc welding robot system was shipped and entered the auto parts industry. In 1999, the first dual-robot coordinated arc welding robot system and the first plasma welding robot system were put into operation. In 1999, the first domestically developed, designed, and manufactured robotic windshield glazing system for automobiles filled a domestic gap. In 2000, the robotic windshield glazing system was put onto the high-end sedan production line; the first logistics handling project was put into operation. In 2001, the company began to undertake a large number of robotic welding projects for automotive exhaust systems. In 2002, the first multi-robot high-speed automatic carton handling system with Ethernet communication and real-time task planning was put into operation. In 2003, the first sedan axle robotic welding production line was put into operation; the first spot welding robot application project was implemented on an automotive production line. In 2004, the first heavy-duty truck axle robotic welding production line was put into operation; a nine-station, 60-meter-long automotive assembly line was put into operation, including a robot vision sensing system for precise body position detection. In 2005, an automotive door hemming, handling, and indirect spot welding production line was put into operation; a nuclear waste robotic handling system was successfully developed and equipped on-site for operation. In January 2006, the company's second plant area was put into use. V. Notable Honors The development of YSR has received the cordial care of national leaders. In 1994, former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji led a delegation to Japan and personally met with the president of Yaskawa Electric. In September 1997, former Premier Zhu Rongji personally received the president of Iwatani Corporation who visited China. In 2001, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Jia Qinglin and Liu Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee, watched the Shougang Motoman robot performance at the 'Beijing International Science and Technology Week'. In March 2002, it was awarded the 'Advanced Enterprise for Beijing Mass Economic and Technological Innovation Project' by the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions. In December 2003, it won the 'Second Prize of Shougang Science and Technology for the Robotic Windshield Glazing System Project'. In May 2004, it was awarded the 'Advanced Unit' award by Beijing Shougang High-tech Co., Ltd. In January 2005, it received the 'Commemorative Award for the 240,000 vehicles/year capacity expansion of Guangzhou Honda' from Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. In January 2006, it won the 'Second Top Ten Famous Products of Shougang for the Automotive Parts Arc Welding Robot System Project'. Additionally, SGM has won team awards in badminton competitions held by the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and foreign-invested enterprises multiple times.
