Founded in April 2012, Futu Network and Futu Securities are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Futu Holdings, a NASDAQ-listed company. The founder is the 18th employee of Tencent. As an internet broker*, Futu provides one-stop investment services for Hong Kong and US stocks.

With the rise of China's economy, more and more investors are turning their attention overseas. However, when investors actually participate in overseas securities market investment, they may encounter frustrating difficulties: poorly designed trading software, high and opaque transaction costs, careless customer service... Moreover, since the first appearance of online securities trading in Hong Kong in 2000, after more than a decade, online securities brokerage services still lack truly satisfactory innovation and progress.

Futu's birth stems from our vision and confidence to reshape online securities brokerage services. We strive to bring our years of accumulation and understanding of internet product technology, as well as the internet industry's inherent experience-first, customer-centric philosophy, into the securities industry, and try to bring change to the industry through our efforts.

As a unicorn company in the internet securities industry, in 2012 Futu took the lead in redefining Hong Kong and US stock brokerage business with fintech. It spent five years building the underlying system and applied for a broker license in Hong Kong to proactively accept regulation. With full-chain self-developed technology, it continuously solves user pain points in account opening, fund deposit and withdrawal, market data, trading, information, settlement, and other aspects, and further drives the development of customized services. Its trading software Futu Niu Niu also provides stock software for Windows, Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms, offering comprehensive investment experiences and services such as market data, trading, information, and social features.

While Futu's attempts to focus on products and user experience are increasingly recognized by peers, it also earns customer trust. In just four years, Futu has stood out from hundreds of Hong Kong brokers and has now reached the category of Class B brokers. Futu's customer-focused philosophy and innovative internet financial model have also attracted global investment institutions. From 2015 to 2017, it received nearly $220 million in investment from three global investment institutions—Tencent, Sequoia Capital, and Matrix Partners—in three rounds. It is a rare startup that did not change investors across consecutive Series A, B, and C rounds, and it is also a startup led by Tencent in three consecutive rounds. This fully demonstrates investors' high recognition of Futu's development direction and team execution.
