审协广东中心为独立法人资格，具有独立的人事、劳资和财务管理权，独立核算，经费自理。
审协广东中心受国家知识产权局专利局委托从事发明专利申请的实质审查、PCT国际申请的国际检索和国际初步审查、为司法程序提供实用新型和外观设计专利权评价报告，为企业提供专利申请和保护等方面的技术和法律咨询服务。
中心目前设审查部门7个，分别为机械发明审查部、电学发明审查部、通信发明审查部、医药生物发明审查部、化学发明审查部、光电技术审查部和材料工程发明审查部；管理部门5个，分别为办公室、党委（纪委）办公室、人力资源部、财务部和审查业务部。
