China Changjiang Power Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Changdong Group) is a specialized subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and a key enterprise in China's power equipment manufacturing industry. The company has a registered capital of RMB 250.55 million. In 2015, its total assets reached RMB 3.795 billion, with an annual production capacity of 7 million kilowatts of power generation equipment and more than 2,000 employees. As an important part of the aerospace technology application industry of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and the Sixth Academy of Aerospace, Changdong Group is positioned in the future as a high-end aerospace equipment manufacturing base in Central South China.
Founded in 1958, Changdong Group is the only large enterprise in China that produces both thermal power generating units and hydroelectric generating units. In January 2015, Changdong Group completed its overall relocation. Its current factory site is located in Wuhan East Lake New Technology Development Zone, covering a total area of more than 760 mu, with a building area of nearly 300,000 square meters. It has 5 specialized factories and a product complete-set center, more than 20 cold, hot and precision machining workshops of various types, and is equipped with more than 600 pieces of various sophisticated equipment, realizing CNC machining of small and medium-sized parts and key components, and initially forming an advanced digital production and manufacturing system. The enterprise attaches importance to technology introduction and innovation, and has carried out extensive business cooperation with companies such as Toshiba of Japan, Alstom of France and GE of the United States. The company's current leading products are thermal power generation equipment below 155,000 kilowatts and hydroelectric power generation equipment below 50,000 kilowatts. Its products are exported to more than 10 countries in Europe, America and Southeast Asia. The company also has Grade II qualification for general contracting of electric power engineering construction, qualification for overseas contracting engineering and safety production license qualification for building construction. It was the first in China to develop the business model of general contracting of power station projects and joint venture and cooperative establishment of power plants. In recent years, in line with the national energy conservation and emission reduction policies, the company has entered fields such as waste heat power generation and new energy (photovoltaic power generation), achieving remarkable results.
Over the past 50 years and more, Changdong Group has cumulatively produced more than 2,400 thermal power generating units and more than 400 hydroelectric generating units. In general contracting of power station projects, it has undertaken the construction of more than ten thermal power plants and hydropower stations, installed hundreds of steam turbine generators and power station boilers, with a total installed capacity of more than 2 million kilowatts, and has won high praise from partners. The company has been awarded the National May 1 Labor Certificate, Hubei Provincial High-tech Enterprise, Hubei Provincial Harmonious Labor Relations Enterprise, Hubei Provincial Advanced Enterprise in Deepening State-owned Enterprise Reform, Hubei Provincial Excellent Enterprise, and National Work Safety Standardization Grade II Enterprise, among other titles.
