Chongqing Wanli New Energy Co., Ltd., formerly known as Chongqing Wanli Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Wanli Battery Co., Ltd., originated from Chongqing Battery General Factory. The company was founded in August 1943. In 1992, it took the lead in implementing shareholding system reform in the national battery industry. Its shares were officially listed and traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on March 20, 1994, becoming the first listed company in the same industry nationwide.
The company is renowned for producing various types of "Wanli" brand lead-acid batteries and is known as "China Energy Storage Expert". The "Wanli" brand lead-acid batteries have a history of 70 years.
In September 2007, in accordance with the strategic deployment of "retreat from secondary industry to tertiary industry, retreat from city to park" by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the company acquired 438 mu of land in Shuangfu Industrial Park, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, and invested 400 million yuan to construct an environmental protection overall relocation project in two phases. Phase I project (annual production of 1 million starter-type lead-acid batteries) invested 160 million yuan and was officially completed and put into production in September 2010. After the completion and production of Phase II project (annual production of 3 million starter-type maintenance-free sealed lead-acid batteries, annual production of 15 million electric vehicle valve-regulated lead-acid batteries, annual production of 2 million automotive valve-regulated lead-acid mild hybrid batteries), it will add new production capacity of 5.57 million KVAh, achieve operating revenue of 3 billion yuan, and total profit of 338 million yuan.
The company has successively passed ISO9001:2000 (CQC certification by China Quality Certification Center) certification, ISO/TS16949 quality system certification, ISO14001:2004 environmental management system certification, and OHSAS18001:2007 occupational health and safety management system certification.
The company has passed relevant approval permits for production pollutant discharge environmental protection, cleaner production, and occupational disease hazard protection.
The company's products have obtained many honors such as testing and network access certification and excellent supporting qualifications from the Ministry of Information Industry, State Power Corporation, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the General Staff Department of the People's Liberation Army.
The company strives to build Wanli Battery into the most attractive lead-acid battery production base in western China within 3-5 years.
