Wuhan Ruisheng School

Wuhan Ruisheng School is a joint-stock full-boarding private school approved by the Wuhan Education Bureau in June 2002. The school is located by the Jinyin Lake in Dongxihu District, Wuhan, covering an area of 131 mu with a building area of 42,000 square meters. The school currently has 242 faculty and staff members and 2,000 students. It is the **only municipal-level demonstration high school among private schools in Wuhan.
The chairman and principal, Li Shuisheng (former principal of the High School Affiliated to Central China Normal University), is a special-grade teacher of middle schools, a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, a nationally renowned education expert, a national model worker in the education system, a national outstanding principal, and the winner of the second "Ruziniu Golden Globe Award" from the Hong Kong Pennington (China) Education Foundation. He is also a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Hubei Province, a deputy to the Hubei Provincial People's Congress, a counselor of the provincial people's government, a special supervisor of the provincial public security department, vice president of the provincial education association, president of the provincial high school principals association, and a member of the provincial education science outstanding achievement review committee. In 2009, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was listed on Hubei Province's "60 Years of Great Achievements" personality list (Ma Guochang, Zhang Kaiyuan, Yang Shuzi, and Li Shuisheng were jointly listed as four masters of "academic giants guarding the spiritual homeland"). In recent years, he has successively won honors such as "National Outstanding Private Educator in Basic Education", "National Outstanding Private Primary and Secondary School Principal", "Top Ten Figures Moving Dongxihu Education", "Hubei Province Private Educator-Type Principal", "Outstanding Principal in Education Reform and Innovation in 40 Years of Reform and Opening Up", and "National Innovative Famous Principal".

Over the past 18 years, the number of enrolled students has climbed year by year, from more than 100 in 2002 to nearly 2,000 now, a 20-fold increase; the number of students reaching the first-tier university admission line has increased from more than 10 to more than 200 each year now, another 20-fold increase; the number of students scoring above 600 in the college entrance examination has increased from single digits to 30-40 now, another increase of more than 20 times. Non-traditional students of liberal arts and sciences have achieved remarkable results. Many students, upon entering the school, had just passed the municipal demonstration line or general high school line, or even only passed the private school line. Through the overpass channel diversion, dozens of them have been admitted to first-tier universities, and about 10 pilots reach the admission line each year. Especially in the 2019 college entrance examination, 1/4 of the students scoring above 600 in the city's municipal-level demonstration schools came from Ruisheng; among schools with outstanding results of above 600 in science, Wuhan Ruisheng is the **private school praised in a city-wide notice.
