(hereinafter referred to as "Beike Biotechnology") was founded in July 2005, with its headquarters located by the beautiful Shenzhen Bay and the coast of Houhai. The company currently has more than 740 employees, of whom over 40% are technical research and development personnel. In terms of management system construction, Beike Biotechnology has for 14 consecutive years passed the "three-standard integrated" management system certification of the Quality Management System (ISO9001), Environmental Management System (ISO14001), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (IOS 45001), and after expanding the certification scope, also successfully completed the Information Security Management System (IOS 27001) certification. In May 2017, the storage and application technology quality management system for four types of autologous cells (human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells, human umbilical cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells, human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells, human peripheral blood immune cells) of Beike Biotechnology Shenzhen Cell Bank (Shenzhen Comprehensive Cell Bank) simultaneously passed AABB certification.
Since its establishment, Beike Biotechnology has always regarded technological leadership and quality safety as core competitiveness, attaches great importance to and continuously increases research and development investment, enabling the company to maintain a leading technological position in the same industry. As of January 2024, Beike Biotechnology has applied for 207 patents in the cell field, of which 162 have been authorized; published more than 100 papers in authoritative journals at home and abroad including Cell Stem Cell; undertaken more than 70 government projects at various levels, including 8 national projects (2 863 projects). Each cell "produced" by Beike Biotechnology involves 680+ standard documents, 870+ quality records, and * up to 910+ quality control node inspections and confirmations, ensuring that each cell is traceable and trackable.
In June 2016, the "Specification for Construction and Management of Cell Preparation Centers" (No.: SZDB/Z 188-2016), jointly drafted by Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology under the organization of Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervisory Authority and Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, was officially released; thereafter, the Shenzhen local standard "Specification for Construction and Management of Comprehensive Cell Banks" (No.: SZDB/Z 266-2017) was officially released in September 2017. The release of these two local standards provides useful reference for the formulation of industry standards for cell therapy technology in China. The implementation of a series of specifications will surely lead and accelerate the process of the cell therapy industry entering legalization, standardization, and specialization. Beike Biotechnology will, based on "Comprehensive Cell Bank + Regional Cell Preparation Center" and using "Internet+" as a means, under the promotion of industrial investment fund cooperation, form a nationwide public technical service platform for personalized cell therapy industry and a personalized cell therapy technology network.
In 2019, Beike Biotechnology officially had its first batch of certified professional talents—cell preparation engineers and cell quality management engineers, and proactively introduced a third-party professional cell quality testing platform to issue legally effective testing reports for each tested cell, providing a reliable guarantee for the clinical application of cells.
Shenzhen Comprehensive Cell Bank was established by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission in accordance with the document "Shenzhen Life and Health Industry Development Plan (2013-2020)" approving "Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology Co., Ltd. to build Shenzhen Comprehensive Cell Bank" (Shenzhen Development and Reform [2014] No. 1717), and is a large platform handling cell resources and applications. Aiming to address the current situation of inconsistent quality standards and disconnected information in the cell industry, Shenzhen Comprehensive Cell Bank undertakes the responsibility of establishing a platform with third-party certification, developing key common technologies such as quality control, promoting the formulation of cell industry standards, and forming a traceable standardized information management system platform, providing technical services for Shenzhen's life and health industry. As infrastructure for Shenzhen's life industry, Shenzhen Comprehensive Cell Bank has actively undertaken scientific research projects entrusted by relevant national and provincial departments, carried out related technical research, important technical standard research and formulation, and gathered and cultivated professional talents.
