The Maersk Group, founded in 1904 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, is engaged in container shipping, logistics, investment and management of container terminals, container manufacturing, and information processing services, and is the world's largest container carrier. Currently, the Group's Global Information Processing Center and Damco Logistics have respectively established offices in Tianfu Software Park in Chengdu, with a total of over 2,300 employees working there.
Maersk Information Processing (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Maersk Group. During the Western China International Fair in 2009, the Maersk Group signed an investment cooperation agreement with the Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, and officially settled in Building D3 of Tianfu Software Park in March 2010, with a leased area of approximately 8,800 square meters. As of December 2017, the number of employees was 1,189. Maersk Information Processing (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. is the fifth data and information processing center established globally by the Maersk Group, primarily providing shipping import and export documentation processing, electronic booking, online customer service, and financial and accounting process handling for internal companies within the Group. All business is offshore service outsourcing. Its service clients are distributed across the Asia-Pacific region, Russia, the Mediterranean, Oceania, etc.
