Kohler Co., founded in 1873 and headquartered in Wisconsin, is one of the renowned family-owned companies in the United States. Kohler Co. is at the forefront of the industry in kitchen and bath products, home interiors, hospitality services, and golf clubs.

As early as the 1930s, Kohler products established a deep connection with China, as many famous buildings in Shanghai at that time, such as the Jin Jiang Hotel and the Grand Cinema, used Kohler sanitary ware. In 1995, Kohler established its China office in Hong Kong, marking its official entry into the Chinese market. In 1999, Kohler set up its China headquarters in Shanghai and subsequently opened offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Shenzhen. To date, Kohler has 13 factories, over 500 showrooms, and more than 10 flagship stores in China.

On November 6, Kohler Co. announced the strategic decision to establish Kohler Energy as a separate, independent business with Platinum Equity as the majority investment partner. Kohler will continue to stay invested in the Energy business following the closing and remains committed to supporting the acceleration of long-term growth strategies for both organizations. Talent and operational transition plans are underway. Kohler Co. and Platinum Equity expect the agreement to close in the first half of 2024.
