Sam is the name of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart Group, and Club in English means a club or association.
In April 1983, the first Sam's Club opened in Midwest City, Oklahoma, USA. In the early 1990s, Sam's Club began to enter the international market and has now become one of the most influential retailers in the world.
In 1996, Sam's Club opened its first store in Asia in Shenzhen, China. To date, Sam's Club operates 26 warehouse membership stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Dalian, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuhan, Changzhou, Zhuhai, Tianjin, Xiamen, Nanjing, Changsha, Nanchang, Ningbo, Nantong, Chengdu and Shenyang.
