In April 2007, Citi became one of the first foreign banks to locally incorporate in China. Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Citi China") is wholly owned by Citibank N.A. On July 16, 2009, Citi China received approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to prepare for the establishment of the Chongqing Branch. This will become Citi China's ninth branch.

Based on Citi's diverse customer base, the new Chongqing Branch will provide a wide range of products and services to meet the financial needs of multinational corporations, leading local enterprises, financial institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises and retail customers.
