As the scientific research and innovation institution of ENN Group, ENN Energy Research Institute is committed to disruptive technological innovation from low-carbon energy to carbon-free energy. Over the past decade since its establishment, it has achieved significant breakthroughs in technological fields such as coal-based low-carbon energy, renewable energy, and ubiquitous energy networks, and many results have entered the stage of industrial demonstration. The Institute has multiple high-end scientific research and innovation platforms, including the "State Key Laboratory of Coal-based Low-carbon Energy", the "Hebei Provincial Key Laboratory of Compact Fusion", the "Overseas High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base", the "International Science and Technology Cooperation Base", the "Academician Workstation", and the "Postdoctoral Research Station", which can fully integrate and utilize international and domestic resources. The Institute possesses its own design and engineering platform institutions, enabling entrepreneurs to achieve the entire value chain connection from creative insight, laboratory research, small-scale testing, pilot testing, to industrial engineering technical services. To date, it has undertaken more than 30 scientific research and innovation projects (including 863/973) and international science and technology cooperation projects, produced over 1,500 patent achievements, and made significant contributions to the technological development of China's clean energy and energy conservation and environmental protection industries.
The Institute has now formed a technology research and development and engineering team of more than 500 people with an optimized structure. The average age of the research and development team is 35 years old, and over 100 members have overseas study or work experience, including 2 overseas tenured professors, 15 national high-level talent experts, 1 "Ten Thousand Talents Program" expert, 4 "Hundred Talents Program" experts, and more than 20 provincial-level management experts, covering the main directions of the new energy field. The team has strong research and development strength, and has formed a solid research foundation and a strong scientific research and cultural atmosphere over more than 10 years.
