CITIC Engineering Design and Construction Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") is a first-tier subsidiary and an important science and technology backbone enterprise of CITIC Group, which ranks 137th on the Fortune Global 500 and is a Hong Kong-listed company. It was formed through the strategic restructuring of two large state-owned design institutions established in the early days of New China, both among the "Top 100 Chinese Survey and Design Units by Comprehensive Strength" — CITIC Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (formerly Wuhan Architectural Design Institute) and China Municipal Engineering Central South Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.
The Company has a registered capital of 1 billion yuan and holds qualification certificates of the highest domestic level across the entire engineering survey and design industry and all fields, including Comprehensive Grade A in Engineering Design, Comprehensive Grade A in Engineering Survey, Grade A in Engineering Consulting, Grade A in Urban and Rural Planning Formulation, Grade A in Engineering Supervision, and Grade A in Domestic Sewage Operation.
The Company currently has 3 specially appointed academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 National Survey and Design Master, 26 experts enjoying special government allowances of the State Council, 184 professor-level senior engineers, 820 senior engineers, and more than 3,000 professional and technical personnel.
The Company has won more than 440 awards at the national, ministerial, provincial and municipal levels, completed more than 120 scientific research projects at various levels, and obtained nearly 50 invention and utility model patents. The Company has chief-edited or participated in the editing of nearly 50 standards and specifications, among which multiple national standards and specifications for the water supply and drainage specialty have filled domestic gaps.
