Founded in 1953, Zhejiang University Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (UAD) is one of the earliest Grade A design and research institutes established among key national universities, with a history of 69 years. Adhering to the policy of "creating harmony, embracing global vision, integrating industry, academia, research and innovation, and pursuing excellence", and with the development strategy of "high-quality culture, broad perspective, efficient management, high-caliber talent, advanced and specialized technology, and outstanding works", the company passed ISO9001 quality system certification in January 2000, and occupational health and safety management system and environmental management system certification in November 2017. In 2008, the Engineering Technology Research Center was established as a provincial-level enterprise technology center; in 2012, an academician expert workstation (municipal-level) was established; in 2014, the "Collaborative Innovation Research Center" was jointly established with the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Zhejiang University; in 2016, it was designated as a Zhejiang Provincial Enterprise Postdoctoral Workstation; in 2020, it was designated as a Zhejiang Provincial Enterprise Research Institute, and jointly established the Zhejiang University Balanced Architecture Research Center as a university-level research institution with Zhejiang University.
