(formerly known as XW Laboratories), is a research and development company focused on independent research and development of innovative drugs for the treatment of central nervous system diseases. It was established in April 2014 in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, with its headquarters in Wuhan. XWPharma currently has subsidiaries in Taiwan, Australia, and the United States to conduct preclinical and clinical research.
The company has a vibrant and experienced professional innovative drug R&D team, which has built three unique innovative drug R&D platforms at the international advanced level. The company's Chief Scientific Advisor is Professor Peter Wipf, an American* medicinal chemist. Among them, Johnson & Johnson's venture capital investment in XWPharma was its first strategic investment in a research-oriented biopharmaceutical company in the Asia-Pacific region, which is of milestone significance. In January 2017, the company completed Series B financing, and in September 2019, it completed Series C financing. The three rounds of financing amounted to hundreds of millions of RMB.
It has cumulatively obtained 19 invention patents in China, the United States, Russia, Australia, and other countries.
