Shanghai Project Management & Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd (SPM) was established on June 11, 1993, approved by the Shanghai Municipal Construction Commission. It was founded by Professor Ding Shizhao, a pioneer in China's engineering project management and supervision, and led by the Research Institute of Project Administration and Management (RIPAM) of Tongji University. SPM is one of the earliest enterprises in China engaged in engineering project management and engineering supervision, and is recognized as a "Contract-honoring and Credit-worthy" enterprise by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. After more than two decades of unremitting efforts, it has developed into a national engineering consulting enterprise with multiple engineering consulting qualifications, covering the entire life cycle of various engineering project constructions. It holds a leading position in engineering consulting and supervision services in fields such as super high-rise buildings, large urban complexes, airport terminals, and urban rail transit. The company has won the honorary title of "National Advanced Engineering Supervision Enterprise" from the China Association of Engineering Construction for five consecutive sessions, and in 2014, it was rated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development as one of the only five "National Excellent Enterprises in Engineering Quality Management." The company is one of the first enterprises in China to obtain the comprehensive qualification for engineering supervision from the Ministry of Construction, and also holds Class A qualifications for cost consulting, bidding agency, government procurement agency, and national equipment supervision, as well as information system supervision qualification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, civil air defense supervision qualification, cultural relics protection supervision qualification, and engineering consulting qualification from the National Development and Reform Commission. It is one of the engineering consulting enterprises in China with the most comprehensive qualifications. The company employs more than 2,000 staff members, including over 500 registered professionals of various types, and has abundant human resources. It boasts a number of well-known experts in relevant domestic and international fields, as well as professionals in technology, economics, management, and other areas. They come from various fields such as design, construction, owners, scientific research, and engineering consulting, and have made significant contributions to the company's development and the construction of many engineering projects through their rich work experience. In 2016, the company signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Bureau Veritas (France), committing to providing customers with world-class project management services.
