Beijing Liuyi Biotechnology Co., Ltd., formerly known as Beijing Liuyi Instrument Factory, was founded in 1970. It is a state-owned high-tech enterprise with a long history and is now affiliated with Beijing Haigong Holding Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Haidian District Industrial Bureau - later Beijing Haidian District Industrial Company). Initially producing electric welding machines, industrial flowmeters and other products, it began producing electrophoresis instruments in 1979; in 1980, the first batch of electrophoresis products was launched, making it the earliest enterprise in China to professionally produce and sell electrophoresis devices. After 50 years of arduous struggle, Liuyi Company has become an important brand in biochemistry and analytical testing instruments, with registered capital of 20 million yuan and 81 employees. Its product line covers electrophoresis apparatus, UV analyzers, gel imaging analysis systems, microplate readers, gene amplification instruments, etc. Its products are found in laboratories of major research institutes across the country and sold to dozens of countries and regions. Its product technology is independently original, and its brand influence ranks among the foremost. Liuyi Company has always adhered to brand, innovation and integrity building. Since 1980, it has promoted itself through newspapers, periodicals, radio stations and other media, and its brand awareness has gradually risen; in December 1984, its electrophoresis devices passed acceptance by the Institute of Forensic Science of the Beijing Public Security Bureau; in 1985, it won the third prize of Beijing Municipal Scientific Achievements; on June 15, 1985, the core trademark "Liuyi Brand" registered under No. 227619 and began to be widely used and promoted. In December 1987, UNESCO arranged for education experts from ten countries in the Asia-Pacific region to visit Liuyi Company. Starting with winning the bid for the international project "China Seed Project", the company won all tenders for electrophoresis devices financed by the World Bank and foreign loans over the years, and achieved export earnings year after year. In 1991, the National Seed Station of the Ministry of Agriculture designated the electrophoresis apparatus as Liuyi Brand. Over the years, in government procurement by major research institutes across the country, projects involving electrophoresis devices, excluding imported products, have basically been won by Liuyi Company. From 1980 to now, Liuyi Company has cumulatively sold 500,000 electrophoresis devices, achieved an output value of about 500 million yuan, and paid more than 60 million yuan in taxes and profits. In recent years, Liuyi Company's average annual output value has been more than 30 million yuan, with annual sales of more than 30,000 units, and it has completed the annual economic, safety and Party building targets of the Industrial Company on time. For decades, Liuyi Company has adhered to the path of independent innovation, attached importance to brand building and intellectual property protection, established special working systems, and never plagiarized or imitated others. In particular, the 2006 in-situ gel casting technology and the 2010 sloped-position gel casting technology led the industry and set the trend, and obtained 4 invention patents in the United States and Japan. Their technological advancement is superior to international brands. Up to now, there are more than 70 certificates in total, including trademarks, patents, software copyrights and copyrights. As the first drafting unit, it undertook the compilation and revision of industry standards twice, in 1993 and 2004. The national standard "Basic Electrophoresis Devices" undertaken in 2009 was released and implemented in 2013, and won a special award of 300,000 yuan from Fengtai District. In 2008, the electrophoresis device industrialization plan was included in the National Torch Program project; in 2008, "Liuyi Brand" was rated as a Famous Trademark of Beijing and passed two reviews; the company has been rated many times as a "High-tech Enterprise", "Trustworthy Enterprise", "Tax Credit A-level Enterprise", "Excellent Member of Zhongguancun Credit Promotion Association", "Trademark Pilot Unit of Zhongguancun National Trademark Strategy Implementation Demonstration Zone", "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative" enterprise, Beijing "A-level Taxpayer", integrity-building enterprise, Credit Double Hundred enterprise, and integrity statistics unit; multiple products have been rated as Beijing independent innovation products and won the Independent Innovation Silver Award; the 2DE national major scientific instrument project cooperated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University passed acceptance smoothly in 2016. It undertook the development of the IEF power supply and PAGE electrophoresis system in the 2DE project, including R&D tasks for PAGE electrophoresis apparatus, PAGE power supply, blood glucose meter, etc., all completed on schedule and received more than 5 million yuan in national funding; it has repeatedly received support from the Technology-based SME Technological Innovation Fund and the Patent Achievement Transformation Fund; in 2019, Liuyi Company was rated as one of the first Fengtai District "Enterprises with Outstanding Contributions to the Implementation of Trademark Brand Strategy" and won a prize of 500,000 yuan.
