HTC is a world-leading smartphone designer. Based on a human-centered product design philosophy, it continuously creates newer and better mobile experiences. HTC is committed to improving people's mobile experience through subtle changes and simplifying communication methods, and has become a top-of-mind smartphone brand for consumers.
HTC was founded in 1997 by Chairperson Cher Wang, Director H.T. Cho, and CEO Peter Chou. In its early days, HTC quietly played an important role behind the scenes as a major driver for many telecom operators. Starting in 2006, HTC began to successively launch high-quality, diverse branded smartphones.
Since its inception, HTC has been at the forefront of the market, actively establishing good partnerships with several globally renowned technology companies and operators, including Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, as well as Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and NTT DoCoMo. Additionally, HTC was one of the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance announced in 2007.
HTC, with its ideals and vision, is recognized as a pioneer in the mobile communications industry and has received numerous important industry accolades. For example, HTC was named by the well-known American magazine Business Week as one of the world's top 100 and Asia's top five technology companies; both Fast Company, a highly authoritative American magazine, and MIT Technology Review from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology listed HTC as one of the world's 50 most innovative companies in 2010. HTC's CEO Peter Chou has also won multiple awards: Laptop magazine selected him as the fifth most influential person in the mobile industry, and he received the Mobile Communications Outstanding Achievement Award at the Wireless Week Leadership Awards.
In October 2009, HTC unveiled its new brand positioning, 'Quietly Brilliant.' For HTC, Quietly Brilliant means creating great things with humility. It is based on the belief that 'wonderful experiences speak louder than words.'

Products and Innovation
HTC's design philosophy is that no single phone fits everyone, so we create a diverse product portfolio, each combining distinctive styling with deep, innovative design, allowing consumers to find the phone that best suits their personal needs. In June 2009, HTC launched HTC Sense, a unique user experience. It stems from listening to and observing how users live and communicate, adhering to a human-centered design philosophy, and striving to make phone usage more intuitive and simple.
2007 – Launched the first phone in the breakthrough touchscreen series, the HTC Touch.
2008 – Launched the widely acclaimed HTC Touch Diamond, equipped with TouchFLO, HTC's touch technology developed for Windows-based phones. The phone later won the 'European Smartphone 2008-2009' award from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). In September of the same year, HTC, together with T-Mobile and Google, launched the world's first Android-powered phone, the T-Mobile G1 by HTC.
2009 – Launched the multi-award-winning HTC Hero and HTC HD2. The HTC Hero received the 'MWC 2009 Phone of the Year' accolade at the GSMA Mobile World Congress.
2010 – In February, launched the HTC Legend and HTC Desire.
2011 – GSMA '2011 Mobile Handset Manufacturer of the Year' award.
2011 – During CTIA, won four awards in total: the HTC ThunderBolt, the world's first 4G LTE smartphone launched in partnership with Verizon Wireless, won the 'Technology Award' in the phone/smartphone category; the HTC EVO 3D was named by Laptop Magazine as the '2011 CTIA Best in Show' and 'Best Smartphone'; the HTC EVO View 4G also received the 'Best of CTIA' award.
2012 – The HTC Desire S won the 'Smartphone of the Year' award at MWC 2012.
2012 – Released the HTC One series, with the HTC One S winning the 'Social Media Award' in the EISA awards.
2012 – HTC won the 'Weibo Influential Brand' award from Sina.
2013 – In February, released the new HTC One, which at MWC 2013 won the GSMA 'Best New Smartphone, Device, or Tablet' award, as well as four awards from the renowned tech site TechRadar ('Best in Show' and 'Best Phone'), and Mobile Geeks ('Best Smartphone').
2013 – Won the '2013 Taiwan Digital Service Benchmark Enterprise of the Year' and was listed in the 'Top 10 Internet Word-of-Mouth Brands of the Year'.
2013 – Won the 'Gold Award' at the 6th Taipei International Computer Show Innovation Design Award (COMPUTEX d&i Awards).
