In 2002, Siemens (Shenzhen) Magnetic Resonance Co., Ltd. (SSMR) was established as a joint venture of Siemens Healthineers, rooted in the Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park. In 2011, SSMR became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens Healthineers. In 2013, Siemens Healthineers increased its investment in Shenzhen, adding AT (Clinical Therapy) and ME (Medical Electronics) businesses on the basis of the original magnetic resonance business.

SSMR has a building area of approximately 46,000 square meters and a total workforce of about 1,100 employees, with R&D personnel accounting for over 20% of the total. The R&D team is composed of elite talents, with over 70% holding master's or doctoral degrees, and has been granted more than 270 patents both domestically and internationally. SSMR has become one of Siemens Healthineers' core global R&D and manufacturing bases.

Based on the development strategy of "rooted in China, crafted for the world," SSMR has established a complete industrial value chain in China. Since 2002, SSMR has delivered nearly 7,000 magnetic resonance and angiography systems to customers in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, with business volume growing at a double-digit rate annually.
