Brief Introduction:
In order to implement the requirements of documents such as the "Outline of the National Medium- and Long-Term Plan for Science and Technology Development (2006-2020)" and the "Action Plan for Innovation-Driven Development Strategy Led by Big Data Intelligence in Chongqing," and to promote the rapid development of intelligent robot technology and industry and strengthen government-industry-university-research cooperation, in August 2018, after friendly consultations between governments at all levels in Chongqing and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement was reached. Chongqing Intelligent Robot Research Institute was jointly established by the Chongqing Science and Technology Commission, the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd., and was incorporated into Chongqing's robot "one zone, six platforms" development plan.
The Research Institute aims to build an internationalized, advanced, new-type intelligent robot research and development institution with distinctive characteristics, integrating "a platform for tackling core key technologies of industrial robots, an application service platform for intelligent production lines, and an open and shared platform for talent cultivation" as one, injecting strong momentum into building Chongqing's leading robot industry cluster.
