Takeda's development strategy in China focuses on strengthening medical and scientific expertise, launching innovative medicines to benefit Chinese patients, becoming a partner of choice in the industry, and prioritizing talent development.

Takeda China's headquarters is located in Shanghai, with major business centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Guangzhou, and offices in major cities across the country. Currently, Takeda employs nearly 1,700 people in China. They work diligently across various roles including production, sales, marketing, and clinical research for new products, upholding and fulfilling our commitment to improving the health and quality of life of Chinese patients.

In March 2011, Takeda established a wholly-owned holding company in Shanghai—Takeda (China) Investment Co., Ltd. This company is responsible for managing all of Takeda's businesses in China and oversees the feasibility study and implementation of future market development strategies in China.

Takeda Development Center Asia, headquartered in Shanghai, China, is one of the key strategic bases of Takeda's global R&D in Asia. Staff are located in Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, and Seoul.
The Development Center Asia is committed to clinical development research in China and Asia (excluding Japan), focusing on therapeutic areas such as gastroenterology, oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, and metabolism, to continuously strengthen pipeline capabilities. As an important strategic partner to commercial teams in Asia, it collaborates closely with local commercial teams to meet Asia's business development needs while actively expanding external clinical development research collaborations.
Through the efforts of Takeda Development Center Asia, Takeda continues to uphold its patient-centric philosophy in conducting high-quality clinical trials, aiming to be an industry-leading, streamlined, highly flexible, and collaborative team, bringing innovative and diverse medicines to patients in China and Asia.

Takeda (China) International Trading Co., Ltd. was officially established in January 2013 to strengthen Takeda's business structure in the Chinese market.

Logistics and Warehousing
——Takeda Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd.
Takeda Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd. was established in 2011 in the China Medical City in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province. It has obtained certification under the Good Supply Practice (GSP) for pharmaceutical products and possesses comprehensive quality management capabilities, serving as the base for importing and warehousing Takeda's global pharmaceutical products in China. The logistics center covers an area of 73,333 square meters, was completed in mid-2015, and began operations in early 2016.

Production and Manufacturing
——Tianjin Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Tianjin Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established in 1994. In 1996, it obtained China's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate for pharmaceutical products. Its products not only serve Chinese patients but are also exported to Japan and several European countries.

Takeda's Emerging Markets Business Unit (EM BU), headquartered in Singapore, is dedicated to providing patients with high-quality, established medicines and Takeda's innovative product portfolio. As one of Takeda's global growth drivers, the Emerging Markets focused on gastroenterology and oncology, operating in 35 countries across five different geographical regions: Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan), China, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Russia/CIS. The unit is also exploring further collaborations to expand access to medicines and address unmet patient needs.
