PP租车 (*) is an online private car rental platform based on the P2P concept, integrating the idle time of private cars with the rental needs of tenants. PP租车 was born in Singapore in 2012 and is the first and currently largest P2P car rental community in Asia. In October 2013, it entered China and within just half a year, it officially launched operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and is actively promoting P2P car rental business coverage in second- and third-tier cities across China.
The three founders of PP租车 all graduated from Tsinghua University and the National University of Singapore, with an average age of 30, and have a strong background in the internet industry. The company's core team comes from leading internet companies such as Tencent and Baidu, as well as car rental giants, with extensive practical experience in the internet and car rental industries. PP租车's rapid growth and excellent team have gained high recognition from the capital market. Upon entering the Chinese market, it received angel investments from the most successful entrepreneurs in the industry, including Wang Xing (founder of Meituan), Zhuang Chenchao (CEO of Qunar), and Huang Mingming (of Mingshi Capital). Within half a year of its launch in China, the company secured a $10 million Series A funding round led by leading investment institution Sequoia Capital. On November 4, 2014, PP租车 announced a major $60 million Series B funding round, with top-tier capital institutions such as IDG and Morningside Venture Capital joining our camp.
