Wuhan Intelligent Equipment Industrial Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Wuhan Intelligent Equipment Institute or the Company) was jointly established by the Wuhan Municipal Government and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in accordance with the "Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Building the 'Wuhan Intelligent Equipment Industrial Technology Research Institute'". The Wuhan Municipal Government invested 200 million yuan, including 150 million yuan for construction funds and 50 million yuan for operating funds, while Huazhong University of Science and Technology contributed 150 million yuan in intangible assets. The registered capital was proposed to be 300 million yuan, with each party holding 50% of the shares. The Company was registered and established in September 2014. The shareholder representing the Wuhan Municipal Government is Wuhan Optics Valley Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., and the shareholder representing Huazhong University of Science and Technology is Huazhong University of Science and Technology Industry Group Co., Ltd.
Over the five years since its establishment, under the guidance and support of leaders at the national, provincial, municipal, and district levels and relevant functional departments, Wuhan Intelligent Equipment Institute has become a National High-tech Enterprise, an "Intelligent Equipment National Specialized Maker Space" approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, a "Pilot Enterprise for the Implementation of the Integration of Informatization and Industrialization Management System" and a "National Enterprise Certified for the Integration of Informatization and Industrialization Management System" approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, a "Hubei Provincial Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Technology" approved by the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, a "Hubei Provincial Intelligent Equipment Industrial Technology Research Institute" approved by the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, a "Continuing Education Base for Professional and Technical Personnel" approved by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, as well as a "Hubei Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base", a "Hubei Provincial Technology Transfer Demonstration Institution", a "Wuhan Technology Transfer Demonstration Institution", a "Wuhan Big Data Enterprise", a "Gazelle Enterprise" for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, and a technology "Little Giant" of the East Lake New Technology Development Zone. The Company has basically achieved its *five-year development plan goals and is exploring its second five-year development plan.
