Academy Introduction

Qingshanhu Sunshine School is a school directly under the contemporary Yuzhang Academy education system, sharing the same staff and two signboards with Yuzhang Academy Self-cultivation School. Contemporary Yuzhang Academy inherits the eight-hundred-year cultural lineage of the ancient Jiangxi Yuzhang Academy, which was first established in 1131 AD. In September 2011, it began practicing psychology education and effectively constructing excellent traditional culture as a moral education school. In July 2013, it flourished as a self-cultivation school, carrying forward and developing Yuzhang Academy in the contemporary humanistic environment, with special emphasis on helping and educating adolescents with general misbehavior. The school was approved by the Nanchang Federation of Social Sciences to establish the Nanchang Yuzhang Academy Research Association, and was designated as a council member unit of the Chinese Academy Society and an executive council member unit of the Jiangxi Academy Research Association. In January 2014, in accordance with the spirit of Document No. 1 [2013] of the Pre-youth Group of the Hong Comprehensive Management Committee and Document No. 2 [2013] of the Pre-youth Group of the Hu Comprehensive Management Committee, Yuzhang Academy was approved as the Qingshanhu Sunshine School, a Nanchang municipal government-run and privately-assisted key youth group service and management school.


Geographic Location and Facilities

Yuzhang Academy is located in Ruxi Village, Luojia Town, Qingshanhu District, Nanchang, Jiangxi (400 meters north of Jiang'an Middle School), bordering Changsheng West 2nd Road planning road to the east, Luoyang East Road to the south, and one kilometer from Taizidian Station and Aixihu East Station of Metro Line 1. The academy covers an area of 12 mu with a building area of 3,500 square meters. It has 5 subject classrooms, 3 cultural lecture halls, more than ten student dormitories, a 400-square-meter cafeteria, and a solemn and respectful statue of Confucius standing upright on the playground. The campus features self-cultivation teaching facilities such as a meditation room, psychological counseling room, calligraphy room, lecture hall, cultural relics museum, library, chess and qin room, women's virtue teaching area, and gym. Surrounding the academy are a vegetable base, Yuzhang Academy Parent School, and Yuzhang Academy Art School. This campus can simultaneously educate more than 160 students.
