[Summary] A tertiary comprehensive teaching hospital integrating clinical care,
Dongguan Taixin Hospital is a large-scale tertiary comprehensive Taiwanese-funded hospital in Guangdong Province, integrating medical care, education, and research, jointly funded by members of the Dongguan Taiwanese Businessmen's Association. Located at No. 2 Taixin Road, Dongcheng District (opposite the North Gate of Dongguan No.1 Middle School, on Ring Road), the hospital covers an area of 228.6 mu and was planned and designed with the concept of "relatively concentrated, rationally distributed." Officially opened on December 18, 2014, the hospital is being constructed in three phases. The first phase, with a construction area of approximately 90,000 square meters, is a modern hospital building with one underground floor and eleven above-ground floors. It houses 600 general inpatient beds, 10 operating rooms, and other facilities including interventional catheterization rooms, intensive care beds for internal and surgical critical care, and delivery rooms. VIP areas are also available to serve those in need. Taixin Hospital has introduced Taiwan's advanced hospital management models, invited Taiwanese physicians to practice onsite, and cooperated with local medical colleges, making it a cross-strait medical exchange platform that attracts talents and promotes rapid development of medical standards. Key departments include cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and internal medicine, interventional vascular medicine, minimally invasive surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation, and international medical center. From the initial planning stage, advanced design concepts have been applied, placing the medical technology area between the outpatient and inpatient zones to serve patients in both areas efficiently; critical care departments are rationally distributed around the operating rooms to shorten emergency response time, and a one-stop service is implemented so that patients can complete registration, consultation, payment, blood sampling, vital signs measurement, and ECG within the clinic area. The hospital implements a one-patient-one-consulting-room policy with independent examination rooms (separated by internal corridors). During childbirth, expectant fathers are allowed to accompany the mother and can even personally cut the umbilical cord as a humanized service. Obstetric services cover prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, along with a postpartum care center providing high-quality nursing services. Taiwan's rehabilitation medicine model has been introduced, offering integrated health programs through holistic treatment courses. The Taiwanese practice of "one drug, one bag" is adopted to enhance medication safety. A drug conveyor belt system reduces waiting time for medications. Dispensing follows the "three reads and five checks" principle, supplemented by professional medication guidance. The hospital also has a children's playroom in the pediatrics department to reduce children's fear of medical visits; adjacent to the operating rooms and intensive care units, there are Buddhist shrines and prayer rooms to provide spiritual help and support to patients and their families. All humanized spatial arrangements shorten patient movement lines and waiting times, significantly improving service efficiency and overall service quality, giving time back to patients and embodying the core value of "patient first." The hospital has obtained permission to configure four major large-scale medical equipment items: CT, MRI, DSA, and PET-CT. It has purchased advanced medical equipment from renowned domestic and international manufacturers, including: Siemens magnetic resonance imaging (1.5T MRI), Philips 64-slice 128-layer spiral CT, Siemens mammography system, Siemens digital gastrointestinal machine, Siemens C-arm; Philips digital angiography system (DSA), United Imaging PET-CT, Philips invasive ventilators, Philips monitors; GE color Doppler ultrasound and electrocardiographs; GE ultrasound bone densitometer; German DRAGER anesthesia machines and ventilators; Olympus high-definition electronic gastroscopes and colonoscopes, high-definition integrated laparoscopic systems, electronic nasopharyngoscopes, and various surgical instruments from STORZ, WOLF, and Olympus; the hospital is also equipped with domestic full-automatic assembly-line systems for surgery, anesthesia, laboratory testing, imaging, and pharmacy transmission, providing fast and high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services for clinical work. Taixin Hospital is striving to pass the evaluation of triple-A grade and international JCI accreditation, hoping for sustainable development, serving the public, and safeguarding the health of Taiwanese businessmen and local residents in the Pearl River Delta.
