Jiangxi Institute of Standardization

Jiangxi Institute of Standardization was established in 1990 and is directly affiliated with Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. It has internal departments including the Document Distribution Office, Standards Research Office, Code Office, Barcode Office, and Administrative Office. It has one subordinate enterprise—Jiangxi Standardization Service Center, one website—Jiangxi Quality and Technical Supervision Standards Network, and one quality inspection institution—Jiangxi Barcode Quality Supervision and Inspection Station. At the same time, it also carries three additional plaques: Jiangxi Provincial Organization Code Management Center, China Article Numbering Center Jiangxi Branch, and China WTO/TBT Jiangxi Notification and Enquiry Center. It is a public welfare standardization institution in the province that integrates standard document collection, standard information retrieval, standardization research, service, and application, and is also the undertaking unit of the Secretariat of the Jiangxi Provincial Standardization Information Classification and Coding Research Professional Committee.
Main responsibilities of the Institute: responsible for the collection, organization, research, dissemination of domestic and international standard information and the distribution of standard books; responsible for the management of organization codes in the province; responsible for the management of commodity barcodes in the province; entrusted by Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision to carry out law enforcement on organization codes and commodity barcodes; responsible for WTO/TBT consulting services and standardization research and services, etc.
After twenty years of effort, the comprehensive strength of the Institute has rapidly increased, and the connotation of its services has been continuously deepened and expanded. It has formed a good situation in which the two major businesses of commodity barcodes and organization codes advance side by side, and the ability of standardization research and service has gradually strengthened. It has become the largest specialized standardization scientific research and service technical institution in Jiangxi Province, playing an important foundational support and service role in the economic and social development and construction of our province.
