上海市经济和信息化发展研究中心是经市编办批准成立的上海市经济信息化委直属事业单位，中心增挂上海市企业技术创新服务中心和上海市智慧城市建设促进中心牌子。根据市编办批复和市经信委委托，中心主要承担本市工业和信息化产业发展研究、产业经济运行分析、本市吸收与创新专项资金的结算管理、智慧城市建设研究以及推进等职责,同时面向社会开展战略研究、政策研究、产业规划、评估评价、专项资金项目管理、人员培训、国际交流与合作、编辑出版等业务。
