Xingchen Online was officially launched on March 29, 2001. It is the official news website of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, a national Class-I qualified key news website, and the earliest key news website launched in Hunan Province.
Adhering to news as its foundation, Xingchen Online highlights three major characteristics: news, internet, and local focus. Externally, it serves as a window to promote Changsha to the whole country and the world; internally, it is an important channel providing Changsha citizens with real-time news and various information. After 15 years of development, Xingchen Online's influence has grown increasingly, and its news authority, comprehensiveness, authenticity, and timeliness have gained widespread recognition.
In 2015, responding to the national, provincial, and municipal wave of media convergence, and in accordance with the Changsha Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government's "one TV station, one newspaper, one website" media convergence layout, and the basic positioning of the "Implementation Opinions on Media Convergence Development in Changsha", Changsha fully launched a series of work on Xingchen Online's capital increase, share expansion, quality improvement, and upgrading. Upon research and decision by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the former Hunan Xingchen Online Network Communication Co., Ltd. was officially renamed Hunan Xingchen Online New Media Co., Ltd.
On March 7, 2016, Hunan Xingchen Online New Media Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated. The company will relocate as a whole to the 23rd floor of T1 Office Building, Changsha West Center (Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Comprehensive Transportation Hub), Yuelu District, Changsha City. The newly established Hunan Xingchen Online New Media Co., Ltd. obtained the status of a municipal media group, marking that Xingchen Online, the earliest Party network in Hunan, has taken on a new look after fifteen years of development and is now embarking on a new journey of development.
