In November 2003, with the permission of the former China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Zhongyi Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongyi Insurance Brokers") was established and commenced operations, becoming a Sino-foreign joint venture insurance brokerage company approved to engage in insurance, reinsurance brokerage, and risk management consulting services within China. The joint venture partners are the world-renowned professional services company Aon Group (referred to as "Aon") and the large Chinese enterprise group COFCO Corporation (referred to as "COFCO"). In 2005, the Beijing branch of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers was established; in 2006, the Nanjing branch and the Guangzhou branch of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers were established; in 2008, the Chengdu branch and the Shanghai branch of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers were established successively; in 2012, the Shenzhen branch of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers was established; in 2015, the Hangzhou branch of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers was established, further improving the nationwide service network of Zhongyi Insurance Brokers.\n\nOn March 18, 2021, with the approval of the former China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, Zhongyi Insurance Brokers expanded its business scope, becoming a Sino-foreign joint venture insurance brokerage institution enjoying the same business scope as domestic-funded insurance brokerage institutions.
