[Summary] One of the seven major coal enterprise groups in Shanxi Province
Shanxi Lu'an Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. is one of the seven major coal enterprise groups in Shanxi Province, an energy enterprise group based on coal with diversified development. Its predecessor, Lu'an Mining Bureau, was established in 1959 and was renowned nationwide for its mining ethos of "hard work and frugal mining," pioneering the construction of the "first modern mining area in China." In August 2000, Lu'an Mining Bureau was restructured into Shanxi Lu'an Mining (Group) Co., Ltd.
In accordance with national requirements for transforming economic growth patterns and the strategic deployment of Shanxi's transformation and leapfrog development, Lu'an Group vigorously implements the "Three Places and One New" development strategy of "building a new base for hundreds of millions of tons of coal, creating a new highland for industrial development, opening up new horizons for a happy Lu'an, and comprehensively building a strong, large, and international new Lu'an," adheres to the development policy of "high-end, low-carbon, international" and "circular, innovative, and efficient," gradually forming a "326" new modern industrial system, where "3" refers to three leading industries: coal, coal-based synthetic oil, and coal-power integration; "2" refers to two major industries: nitro fertilizers and nitro chemicals, and modern new coking; "6" refers to six auxiliary industries: photovoltaic industry, equipment manufacturing, building materials, copper processing, modern high-efficiency agriculture, and finance and trade. The leading and auxiliary industries complement each other with advantages, integrate innovation, and develop synergistically. At the same time, the enterprise is transforming from strategy-led to value-led, from resource-dependent to innovation-driven, and from high-carbon energy to low-carbon utilization.
By the end of 2013, Lu'an Group had total assets of 144.28 billion yuan, with 46 wholly-owned and controlled subsidiaries, 14 branches, and 21 equity-participated subsidiaries. In 2013, coal output reached 88.78 million tons, operating revenue was 198.5 billion yuan, and profit was 602 million yuan. In the 2013 Fortune Global 500 list, Lu'an Group entered for the first time, ranking 430th.
